GIRARD, Kan. — School librarians and K-12 educators, mark your calendars. The Girard Public Library is scheduled to soon host a professional learning program, announced by the Library of Congress and the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE). Under the name "Teaching with Primary Sources," the Library of Congress and KSDE are collaborating with rural communities to examine the use of primary sources from the extensive, free, and digitized collections of the national library as research and teaching resources, offering practical assistance and training.
