From Tuesday to Sunday last week, the Girard History Museum and Friends of Historic Girard hosted “Nativity Nights” at its facility, located in the 137-year-old St. John’s Episcopal Church, one block from the historic downtown square. Through the event, the local museum displayed nativity scenes loaned by various community members — Candy Westhoff, Janice Godeke, Tripp Hartmetz, Pam Anastassiou, Doug Lopeman, Carrie Smith, Terri Harley, Anne Paarman, Debra Sims, Lisa Blair, Jonathan and Abigial Hale and Bob and Donna Backes. Organizers said around 30 people attended the first-ever event, which included Christmas refreshments and cookies along with a tour of the museum.
