GIRARD, Kan. — It has been nearly three months since the death of late Girard councilman Bill Huston, and the city of Girard continues to honor his legacy. During Monday’s council meeting, members of the Girard Fire Department made a group visit to the city hall to bestow a retired American flag and a firefighter helmet to Huston’s wife Janet. Huston, a councilman for eight years, served for the Girard Fire and Police Departments.
