GIRARD, Kan. — Following expressed maintenance concerns, the Girard City Council discussed its issues with upkeep at the Girard City Cemetery as Memorial Day approaches. At Monday’s meeting, during council comments, Bill Huston brought up the issue, noting his displeasure with the current look of the cemetery, located at the south end of town just off W. 610 Ave. and W. Southern Blvd. “As I’ve gone around town and I’ve got time to do that because I’m retired, I would expect that corner of town to look as good as that golf course on the east side of town,” he said.
