For those driving along Memorial Drive or North Catalpa Street, the sight of construction can be seen in Lincoln Park at the over 80-year-old J.J. Richards Band Shell. According to the city of Pittsburg, on Oct. 14, the Pittsburg Commission awarded the restoration project to Mid Central Contract Services of Pittsburg in the amount of $243,700. Rejuvenating the band dome, repairs cited include a new roof, substructure work, tuckpointing, electrical upgrades, an ADA-accessible backstage ramp as well as a new concrete stage floor.
