FORT SCOTT — Scorching temperatures coupled with late afternoon rain and lightning did nothing to deter golfers participating in the sixth annual Bourbon County Special Olympics Golf Scramble and Auction Saturday, July 29 at Woodland Hills Golf Course in Fort Scott. Event organizers hoped to raise at least $30,000 to benefit Special Olympics Kansas. As of press time, the total amount of money raised was still being determined.
