PITTSBURG, Kan. — As foraging for food continues to gain popularity in the area, community members were able to learn from K-State Extension Office Horticulturist Jesse Gilmore during the Early Season Foraging class at the Pittsburg Public Library on Wednesday. This act of searching and obtaining food that grows naturally in various outdoor environments has been becoming a more common occurrence among the general population within the last year, Gilmore said. Over 50 people listened to Gilmore as he provided tips and information about good foraging locations as well as popular plants and flowers that area edible.
