GIRARD, Kan. — Kane, a 15-month-old German shepherd, is currently training to serve with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO). On Friday, the Arvest Foundation stepped up to make sure Kane is safe when he’s on the job. The Foundation presented a $6,250 check to the Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) to be used to purchase a protective ballistics vest for the dog and to properly equip the handler’s vehicle for K-9 duty.
