PITTSBURG, Kan. — Crawford County Historical Musuem kicked off its annual “Cowboy Days” Friday with local students getting a first-hand look at life on the prairie more than 150 years ago. Nearly 200 students from Pittsburg, Frontenac, and Arma, ranging from second grade to sixth grade, were wrangled by 22 National Honor Society students from St. Mary’s Colgan as well as museum board members and volunteers acting as tour guides. Students and their teachers spent the day meeting trick ropers, cattlemen, lawmen, leather workers, blacksmiths, pioneers, and more at 10 educational stations across the museum grounds.
