GIRARD, Kan. — At Tuesday’s Crawford County Commission meeting, Commissioner Bruce Blair put forward the idea of creating a full-time, two-man crew to perform preventative maintenance on county roads to extend their lifespan and reduce the long-term costs of repairs. “It makes sense,” said Commissioner Tom Moody. “If you fill the cracks, it keeps the water from getting underneath the asphalt.” Blair said he has already talked with other counties that have similar programs.
