GIRARD, Kan. — Just weeks after the commission was asked to extend the moratorium on wind and solar power, John Copyak of Shasta Power asked the commission to rescind the moratorium on solar development on Friday. Copyak said his company is hoping the delay on Shasta’s $500 million project can be lifted so that they can proceed with construction, which would bring 200 jobs to the region for the next two years as part of a significant financial investment in the county. That investment also includes estimated property tax revenues of four to five million dollars over the next 35 years.
