Antique quilt makes its way back to SEK

First made in 1893, each block of this quilt contains historical and genealogical information about the City of Arcadia with the embroidered names of businesses, shops, trade, or professions of some of the townsfolk. PITTSBURG, Kan. — An antique quilt, first made in 1893, will be returning to southeast Kansas from Indiana and will be on display at the Little Balkans Quilt Show at Memorial Auditorium on Friday and Saturday. The quilt was made by the Arcadia Christian Aid Society and features hand embroidered and hand quilted red and white blocks. Each block contains an embroidered family name from Arcadia, Kansas, and the surrounding area.
