Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 years ago July 9, 1925 Next year’s tax levy for the Crawford County community High School at Cherokee probably will be fixed by the board of trustees at their next meeting Wednesday, July 15, M. A. Callahan, county superintendent of schools, said today. The levy for the past year was two and one-half mills. Checkup on the needs for the next year show that no larger levy will be needed and that it may be possible to lower the levy, Mr. Callahan said.
