In our Talking Heads group last week, we watched a newsreel of FDR articulating the “Four Freedoms” in his 1941 State of the Union address to Congress. He declared that these four essential human rights should apply to all people everywhere.
Freedom of speech and expression • Freedom of worship (religion) • Freedom from want (economic security and a healthy peacetime life) • Freedom from fear (a worldwide reduction in armaments to prevent physical aggression)
