Margie E. Rice, 80, of Opolis, KS, passed away on July 21, 2024, at Via Christi Village in Pittsburg, KS.
Margie was born on January 23, 1944, to Willard and Lucille Ruth (Beckett) Kennett in Pittsburg, KS. She married Walter Dale Rice on June 29, 1981. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2020. Margie worked at Kansas Teachers Credit Union as a bank teller for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Litterini (Lawrence) Virginia Beach, VA, and Vicki Rice, Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Kristopher, Alexis, and Briana; and two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Tom Rice (DeEllen) of Cottonwood Falls, KS; nieces, Tara O'Connor, Sherri Houfek, Aimee Gordon; and nephews, David Cronister, Kenneth Cronister, and Steve Kennett.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Bobby D. Kennett, Gale Wayne Kennett, and Billy Gene Kennett, and a sister, Janis L. Cronister.
According to her wishes, she has been cremated. A Graveside service will be held at a later date in the Crocker Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
