Laura Anne Henderson, age 65, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Pittsburg, Kansas passed away on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024.
A visitation for Laura will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas 66204. A memorial service will occur Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Laura was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and sister-in-law. She was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She loved to read, walk 5k races, travel (esp. Scotland). She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Jayhawks, Royals, Chiefs & Sporting KC. Some of her favorite things included; family holidays, homemade pies, Hallmark channel, thunderstorms, wood burning in the fireplace and spending time with her grandson.
Laura is survived by her husband, Jamie Henderson; daughters, Heather Henderson and Jessica Henderson; son, Matthew Henderson; son-in-law, Philip Mears; and grandson, Maxwell Mears.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to L’Arche Long Island, L’Arche Seattle, L’Arche Heartland & L’Arche North Carolina.
