Phyllis L. Lynch, 77, of Girard, died at 6:50 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, in Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
Phyllis was born Jan. 27, 1947, in Girard, the daughter of Clyde and Ruth (Wheeler) Lynch.
She grew up in Girard and graduated from Girard High School and she attended Pittsburg State University.
Phyllis served in the US Navy and received her honorable discharge in 1967.
She worked at Vac-Co-Hy Printing in Girard before she opened a uniform shop in Pittsburg. She worked at Stage Dress Shop in Pittsburg before retiring from Walmart in 2024 after 12 years of service.
Phyllis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Girard, and she enjoyed her family, friends, and going camping with her family.
Survivors include her cousin, Judy Hunt, and her husband, David, of Frontenac.
As were Phyllis’ wishes, there will be no services and burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
