Fort Scott raised its softball record to 19-2 with an 18-3 victory over Girard on Thursday in Girard.
Kaylee Akin pitched a three-hitter for the Tigers, striking out 11 and walking four in a complete game.
The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the first and added six runs in the second, two in the third and fourth and seven in the seventh. Leadoff hitter Raylee Cowan scored three runs, had three hits and drove in three runs with an RBI single in the third and two-run home run in the seventh.
Bryleigh Hymer went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs batted in, and Jacee Rogers and Kyndal Akin each added three hits and two RBI.
Girard (8-14) scored on Maddie Coester’s two-run triple in the fourth inning and Addison Bowman’s groundout in the sixth.
Emilee Hanks and Jazmyn Kaufman singled for the Trojans’ other two hits.
Girard pitcher Brilee Black fanned three and walked four.
