PITTSBURG, Kan. — As temperatures approached the upper 60s with a clear sky, the Pittsburg Fire Station #1 opened its doors to the public throughout Friday afternoon for this year’s Badges and Burgers fundraiser. Members of the Pittsburg Fire Department and Pittsburg Police Department traded in guns and hoses for a spatula as the meal featured a hamburger or cheeseburger, chips, cookies, and water for the price of $7. Residents passed through the fire station, located at 911 W. 4th Street, to pick up their orders that benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center.
