PITTSBURG, Kan. — In an ongoing effort to recruit in southeast Kansas, Team Rubicon State Administrator Dana Tompson, and her husband Jeremy Tompson, hosted a social hour at Pittsburg’s Drop the H Brewing Company on Thursday night. The couple are focusing on rebuilding Rubicon’s presence in the area as well as strengthening cross-border ties between members in Missouri and Kansas in what they call “continuity of engagement.” “Covid just shut everything down,” said Jeremy, a former Air Force medic. “People got out of the habit of getting together to train and socialize.” Team Rubicon, a veteran-led humanitarian organization founded by two Marines in 2010 in response to an earthquake in Haiti, focuses on serving and providing relief to vulnerable and at-risk populations affected by disaster.
