Linda K. Watson, 76, of Pittsburg, passed away at 12:23 p.m., Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Landmark Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
She was born October 18, 1947, at Pittsburg, the daughter of Jack Leonard and Gladys Mae (Livengood) George.
On June 4, 1970, she was united in marriage to Charles A. Watson, II in Pittsburg. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2021.
Mrs. Watson was a cook for USD 250 schools, including Lincoln and Lakeside Elementary and retired from the Pittsburg Middle School.
Linda was of Baptist faith. She enjoyed shopping with her family at local Thrift Stores.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Watson (Kim) of Arma, and Charles A. Watson III (Lolita) of Pittsburg, four daughters, Cheryl Creech (Rick) of Pittsburg, Roxanne Watson (granddaughter, Nicole Lakey) of Pittsburg, Tammy Cleffman of Oklahoma City, OK and Beverly Murphy (Fred) of Pittsburg, eleven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and three sisters, Kathy Greenwood of Pittsburg, Donna Hines of Alabama, and Patty Swank of Colorado.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, Dan Whitter Jr, an infant daughter, Rebecca Watson, one grandson, Dustin Watson, two brothers, Larry Ray George and Delmar Eugene George and four sisters, Faye Sharp, Myrna Galindo, Ilene M. Bolan, and Virginia Lee Petty.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 3rd) at the Highland Park Cemetery with Pastor Jim Sukraw officiating. Burial will follow. The family suggests memorials to Angels Among Us.
