Joyce E. Fliss, 76, of Frontenac, KS, died Friday, August 25, 2023, at Ascension Living Via Christi Village in Pittsburg, KS, following a short illness.
Joyce was born October 17, 1946, in Pittsburg, the daughter of Joe and Bertha (Buffington) Fontaine.
She attended Pittsburg schools, graduated with the Pittsburg High School Class of 1964, and lived in the area her entire life.
Joyce spent her career in banking as a teller and bookkeeper at various banks in the area.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Joyce enjoyed sewing, often making her own clothes, embroidery, crocheting, reading, playing with her dog, and watching "The Young and the Restless."
Survivors include her son, Eric Lance Fliss and wife Valerie of Hillsboro, OR, brother Joe Fontaine of Helena, MT, nephews, TJ Fontaine and wife Carrie of Missoula, MT, and Josh Fontaine and partner Victoria Simone of Helena, MT. She was proceeded in death by her parents.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ascension Living Via Christi Village, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, the doctors and nursing staff at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO, for taking such good care of Joyce.
