Carolyn Sue Wheelock, age 73, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023, in Kansas City, Kansas.
Carolyn was born June 10, 1950 in Columbus, Kansas, to the late Milas and Juanita (Chandler) Allen; the third of six children. She lived in the area most of her life, living in Wichita for several years, and worked for Crawford County Health in the daycare, and changing into several titles over her employment there.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was also preceded in death by one brother David Allen.
Survivors include two children: Tina Jones (husband Chris) of Pittsburg and Jason Parkison of Los Angeles; two grandchildren: Skyler Jones and Logan Jones; one brother Donnie Allen (wife Kiyome) Okinawa, Japan; three sisters: Pam Guardado of Columbus, Mila Jaeger (husband Paul) of Columbus, and Becky Allen of Tulsa; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus, Kansas. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, September 5, between 5 and 6:30 p.m., after which a memorial service will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
