Betty Jean Henderson, 93 of Chicopee, KS, passed away peacefully at her home on February 22, 2024. She was born on July 12, 1930, to Henry Krantz Sr. and Netta (Galimberto) Krantz in Pittsburg, KS.
Betty attended school in Cherokee, KS, and graduated from high school in 1947. On September 15, 1948, she was united in marriage to Bobby Henderson. They celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary this last year. Betty traveled with her husband for many years, while he worked the pipe lines. After his retirement she worked for the Browsery Antique Shop in Pittsburg, where she loved buying antique dishes. Betty was a very caring person and loved by everyone.
Betty is survived by her husband Bobby, nephew Henry Krantz III, niece Dixie Giffin (Mike), Cheryl Ristau, and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Henry Krantz Jr, niece Bonnie Geier, great-niece Christi Lawlor (Giffin), and great-nephew Dominic Foster.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brenner Mortuary. Services will be the following day at the Brenner Mortuary starting at 10:00 a.m. and burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 149 S US 69 Hwy, Pittsburg, KS. Memorials can be made to the Chicopee Foundation and can be left at Brenner Mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, 114 E 4th, Pittsburg, KS.
