Naomi Ann Garrett

Naomi Ann Garrett, 88, of Liberal, Missouri, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, passed from this life on Oct. 5, 2026, at Cox Barton County Hospital at Lamar, Missouri.

Mrs. Garrett was born April 23, 1938, in Clare County, Michigan, the oldest daughter of Grant H. and Florence M. (Smith) Chapman. Naomi graduated from Coleman, Michigan High School in the Class of 1956. She married Bobbie J. Garrett in Clare, Michigan on July 6, 1956, and resided in Saginaw, Michigan for 30 years. They observed their 70th wedding anniversary this year. While living in Saginaw, Naomi worked for the City Recreation Department as an office clerk, worked as secretary, bookkeeper at Grace Baptist Church, and for Braun, Kendrick Law Firm as clerk typist. She lived 2 ½ years in Key West, Florida while her husband was in the Navy and she worked in purchasing at Boca Chica Naval Air Base. In 1983, Naomi and Bob moved to Watertown, New York. She later moved to Arcadia. In 1995 they moved to Liberal, Missouri where she helped her husband in his business Key Machine Inc. She also worked for 6 years at National Pizza in purchasing, and later for National Mills as executive secretary and human resources director until retiring in Nov. 2004. She also was an agent for Pioneer and Ozark National Life Insurance Companies and served on the Arcadia City Council. Naomi loved to travel and did so in many countries and states in the United States. Survivors include her husband, Bob of the home, two sons, Frank (Gloria) Garrett of Pensacola, Florida and Matthew C. Garrett of rural Arcadia, two sisters, Mavis Raymond of West Branch, Michigan and Jane Little of Florida, seven grandchildren, Kyle Garrett, Kelsey Stevens, Travis Garrett, Violet Jackson, Carly Bleiler, Michael Garrett, Vontrey Garrett, and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the parents and a sister, Esther Ruby.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, at the Sheffield Cemetery near Arcadia, Kansas with Pastor Jim Smith officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma. The family suggests memorials to the Main Street Bible Church in Liberal, Missouri.
