On Sunday, the Girard Fire Department held its 35th Annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service, which honored the firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty in the past year, including Lt. Malachi Brown, a Baxter Springs firefighter who died from injuries received at a fire last October.   more
