Norbert L. “Lee” Forst, 68, of St. Paul, died at 11:41 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
Lee was born November 9, 1954 in Lamar, Missouri, a son of Urban and Clara (Palkowitsh) Forst. Lee grew up on a farm in Walnut and attended school in Walnut, Girard, and graduated from high school in St. Paul. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul and attended trade school at PSU in Pittsburg.
Lee enjoyed living the rural life, farming, his horses and cows, and working outside until his health failed. He also enjoyed talking about the trades and his time spent as an electrician and his travels during that time.
Survivors include his beloved wife Pam Doherty, of the home; his daughters, Lisa Cothern (Josh) of Caney, and Lori Forst; a step-son, Marc Doherty of Pittsburg; step-daughters Amanda Doherty of North Carolina and Alissa Ball (Chris), of Parsons; his grandchildren, Drew Lyons, Jayden Hammond, Dante Hammond, Kadence Ball, Keller Ball and Jordan Cothern; his brother, Steve Forst, and his wife, Linda, of Tennessee; his sisters, Pat Burrows of Columbus and Christine Emerson, and her husband, Jeff, of Owasso, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dennis.
Memorial Mass will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul with Fr. Theodore Khin as Celebrant. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Shriners Hospitals and these may be left at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
