Michael John Row, 74, of Pittsburg, KS died at 8:17 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home following an illness.
Michael was born September 2, 1949, in Pittsburg, KS the son of James A. and Margaret A. (Ryan) Row. He was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School; he later earned an Art Degree from Pittsburg State University. Michael also was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. On February 19, 1972, Michael married Joyce M. Miller in Kansas City, KS; she preceded him in death on December 28, 2021. Michael worked as a carpenter most all his life; he built cabinets, homes and in his free time he enjoyed painting. He worked for Pittsburg State University in housing and in his younger years McNally's Corporation in Pittsburg. Michael was a Christian in Faith; he loved his family, his grandkids, woodworking and brewing beer at his home.
Survivors include his children, Kim Wilson and husband Jeff of Melissa, TX and Cathy Newby and husband Rob of Ft. Worth, TX; brother, Mark Row and wife Zetta Varns of Pittsburg, KS; grandchildren, Kaitlin Martin and husband John of Joplin, MO, Darian Wilson of Webb City, MO, Nathan Newby of Kansas City, KS and Alexis Newby of Ft. Worth, TX and one great-grandson, Hank Martin.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, James Row.
Memorial Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Duane Elmore officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS.
