Marsha Louise Mummert
Marsha Louise Mummert, 83, of Lamar, MO, formerly of Osawatomie, KS died Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Truman Healthcare and Rehab in Lamar. She was born June 2, 1939 in Pittsburg, KS, the daughter of Jack and Wilma (Jones) Cox. On December 21, 1985 she was united in marriage to Edmond Frank Mummert in Miami, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death on July 31, 2019.
Marsha worked as a transcriptionist in the medical record department for KU Medical Center for many years. She retired in 2005.
Survivors include sons, James and wife Bridgette Greenwood of Osawatomie, KS, and Calvin and wife Linda Mummert of Lake Jackson, TX; daughters Belinda Zaparinuk and husband Ken of LaQuinta, CA, Kelly Fowler and husband Perry of Sheldon, MO, Teresa Pelkey of Aurora, CO, Marsha and Joe Nighswonger Osawatomie, KS, and Gayle and Gary Strahan of Spring Hill, KS. Also, her sister Gayle and husband Bob Eveland, 19 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter Rebecca Greenwood.
Graveside services will be 10 am, Thursday, May 4, 2023 at the Ft. Scott National Cemetery. The procession to the cemetery will leave the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home at 9 am on Thursday. Family will receive friends at the funeral home in Pittsburg from 5:30 to 7:30 pm Wednesday evening.
Memorials may be made to Rainbow Pet Hospital-Kansas City; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
