Atkinson Municipal Airport to host open house

Posted

PITTSBURG, Kan. — The City of Pittsburg is inviting the community to an open house at Atkinson Municipal Airport at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, for the upcoming Apron Reconstruction and Expansion project, which is set to begin in July.

Join the city for refreshments at the terminal building, 3510 Airport Dr., Pittsburg, to meet local pilots and airport users, and learn about the improvements coming soon to the airport.

In July 2022, the City received a grant in the amount of $2,090,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Apron Reconstruction and Expansion project, which will help the airport accommodate increased traffic and facilitate larger aircraft at the facility. The FAA grant is a matching fund covering approximately ninety percent of the total project cost.
