PITTSBURG, Kan. — K-State Research and Extension’s Wildcat District recently honored the Pittsburg Salvation Army, as well as the Morning Sun, as its 2022 “Friends of Extension.”

The two awards were presented at the December board meeting, which was held at The Pitt in Pittsburg. The Wildcat District serves Crawford, Montgomery, Wilson, and Labette counties and rotates board meetings between the four counties.

“We appreciate the Pittsburg Salvation Army for hosting nutrition classes we teach throughout SNAP-Ed and EFNEP program, promoting these classes and supporting our overall effort to share nutrition and health information to the people of Crawford County,” said Wildcat District Chair Kim Rutter. “We also want to thank the Pittsburg Morning Sun for helping us communicate research-based information from our agents through printed news columns and feature stories.”
