Calvin Eugene Bunney

Calvin Eugene Bunney, 56, of rural Asbury, Missouri died at 9:46 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Arma Health and Rehabilitation Center at Arma, Kansas.

Mr. Bunney was born September 29, 1967, in Pittsburg, Kansas the son of Fred and Connie Edwards Bunney. Calvin was a welder and fabricator for Silverback Products. He was raised in Pittsburg and graduated from Liberal High School in the Class of 1987. He had lived in the Liberal, Missouri area most of his life. He drove the church van for many years, and loved hunting, fishing, and sports. He loved to witness to people about the Lord. He never met a stranger. He married Janelle Pingree on March 16, 1990, in Lamar, Missouri. Janelle survives at the home.

He attended the Living Faith Church of the Nazarene in Girard.

Survivors include his wife, Janelle of the home; a son, Colton (Mackenzie) Bunney of Lamar, Missouri, and two grandchildren Brynlee and Braylon; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Pingree of Liberal, Missouri; two sisters, Vickie (Willie) Splitter of Liberal, Missouri, and Tina Bunney of Pittsburg; and two brothers, Fred (Johnny) Bunney of Frontenac, and Jeff Yeokum of Frontenac.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas, with Pastor Daryl Gaddy officiating. Burial will be at the Blackjack Cemetery in Asbury, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma. The family suggests memorials to the Via Christi Cancer Center or the Arma Health and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
