PITTSBURG, Kan. — Two suspects were arrested early Friday morning following an armed robbery at the Snak-Atak convenience store at Fourth and Rouse streets, according to the Pittsburg Police Department.

At around 4:40 a.m., PPD patrol officers observed a white male run down an alley near Snak-Atak and enter a waiting vehicle, right as police dispatch received a call that the store had just been robbed, according to the police department.

After a short pursuit, the man allegedly ran from the vehicle and attempted to hide under a house. The driver, later identified as Cheyenne McNaught, 27, of Pittsburg, was detained. Officers located the male suspect, later identified as Bejamin Lewis, 29, of Pittsburg, under a house in the 1000 block of East 5th Street.

Both were taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Crawford County Jail. Lewis was booked in for aggravated robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of the legal process, and a no-bond warrant from the Kansas Department of Corrections for previous aggravated robbery charges. McNaught was booked in for aggravated robbery, and was being held Friday in lieu of $75,000 bond.
