St. Mary’s Colgan seeks new high school principal

PITTSBURG, Kan. — Our Lady of Lourdes Parish announced Wednesday that it is seeking a new principal for grades 7 to 12 at St. Mary’s Colgan, overseeing approximately 220 middle and high school students. 

Wesley Streeter, St. Mary’s Colgan’s high school principal since 2019, left his position at the local Catholic school last year and is now working at Pittsburg State University Strategic Initiatives as deputy strategy officer for business operations and executive director of the Center for Commercialization. Dennis Burke, president of schools for St. Mary’s Colgan, has been serving as interim principal for grades 7 to 12. 

“St. Mary’s Colgan Catholic High School is Catholic school dedicated to providing a quality Christian education driven by faith, excellence, and tradition,” the school said in a job ad for the position.  

Candidates must be practicing Catholic stewards who are committed to a mission of forming disciples of Jesus Christ, eligible for Kansas licensure as administrators, passionate about Catholic education, and have strong interpersonal and relational skills with both students and adults, according to the job ad.
