Martha June Hupp, 81, Pittsburg, Kansas (formerly of Topeka, Kansas) passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

June was born June 3, 1942, in Topeka to Houston and Edith (Randall) Shults. She grew up in the countryside of Topeka graduating from Washburn Rural High School. She was married to Marvin Andrews and to that union three children were born; they later divorced. June married Laurence Hupp in 1976 and was widowed after his death in 2003. It was around 1977 that she moved her family from Topeka to Pittsburg, Kansas where she remained.

June was a wonderful homemaker, dedicated to caring for her family. She was a very simple, quiet and peaceful woman with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed going to her church, the Lighthouse Tabernacle, and loved her gospel music. Hearing her sing along to her favorite hymns will be deeply missed, as well as hearing her tales about growing up on the farm and all the adventures she had with her brothers and sisters. June loved all her grandkids dearly and would always try to take time out for them as much as she could. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Lynne Andrews, John Andrews, and Julie Dryden; many beloved grandchildren; her siblings, Virginia Brown, Dean Shults and Anne Soule; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Laurence Hupp, and her siblings Melvin Shults, Charlene Steinbrecher and her twin brother, William Shults.

Family will greet friends from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, at the Dover Federated Church, Dover, Kansas, followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Wesley House in Pittsburg, sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
