Larry Lee Hardesty

Larry Lee Hardesty, 80, of Pittsburg, KS died 11:00 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Pittsburg Care and Rehab following an illness.

Larry was born September 6, 1943, in Pittsburg, KS the son of James Albert and Margaret Ann (McNeilly) Hardesty. Larry earned a B.S. Degree and later a master's at Pittsburg State University. On December 31, 1980, Larry married Carol Knoerzer in Wichita, KS; she preceded him in death on February 15, 2022.

Larry worked as a Graphic Artist for Headlight Sun, Names and Numbers, SEKAN, and Pittcraft Printing. He was a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Pittsburg, KS; was a church volunteer, was known as an artist, drawer, painter, and a sculpturer.

Survivors include sons Thomas Brent Biondo of Missouri and Brian Hardesty of Missouri; stepchildren Kristie Tucker and husband Tim of Georgia and Eric Schmidt of Colorado; siblings Bob Hardesty of Ohio, Betty Garrison of Kansas, Gary Hardesty and wife Karen of Kansas, Cherryl Wiltse of Kansas, Jim Hardesty of Kansas and Stephen Hardesty and wife Rita of Missouri.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Independent Bible Church in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Jim Fryer officiating. Burial will follow at the Cherokee City Cemetery in Cherokee, KS. Family will receive friends from 9 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Christmas Shoebox. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
