Larry Dean Hallacy

Larry Dean Hallacy, 58, of Chicopee, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at his home in Joplin, Missouri. His wife, Kelly Brown Hallacy, Joplin, Missouri, survives the home.

Larry was born on February 14, 1965, in Girard to John J. (Jack) and Marjorie E. (Trout) Hallacy. He grew up in Radley, where he attended Girard schools K-11th grades, graduating from Arma High School in 1984.

Larry and Kelly were married December 19, 1998, in Girard.

For the past 23 years, Larry has worked at Service Master, Pittsburg. Prior to that, he was employed at Sugar Creek Packing Company, in Capaldo.

Larry was creative and fun spirited. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles, four wheeling, paintball games, yard sales, auctions, and watching old Westerns on the television. Although he was talented at creating all sorts of crafts, he was especially skilled at woodworks, producing many beautiful keepsakes his family and friends cherish. Larry and Kelly had their own business called The Celtic Star, where they sold their own creations of jewelry, incenses, candles, and many other types of crafts, arts and novelties.

Larry was loved by many, and he will be greatly missed. His passing has left a deep void inside all who loved him.

Larry is survived by his wife, Kelly Brown Hallacy; two stepsons: Tim O'Brien, 38, Kansas City, Missouri, and Kris Brown, 33, Kansas City, Kansas; his mother, Marjorie, E. Hallacy, Radley; one sister and her husband, Dianne and Marvin Linville, El Dorado; two brothers and their wives, Dave and Amy Hallacy, Park City, and Daniel and Shawn Hallacy, Radley; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; five nephews, two nieces, five great nephews, and six great nieces.

Larry was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Bonnie Dominguez, 30, Baltimore, Maryland; his father, John J. Hallacy, Radley; his paternal grandparents, John, M, and Leona Hallacy; his maternal grandparents, Fred and Edna Trout; his nephew, Jake Joseph Hallacy, Park city; six uncles, and four aunts.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 28, at Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Girard. Visitation will take place from 12 to 1 p.m. the same day. Afterward, Larry will be interned in the Hallacy family plot at Girard Cemetery.
