Kooper David Campiti, 18, of Frontenac, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023 at his home.

Kooper was born October 8, 2004 in Pittsburg, Kansas, the son of Shawn and Kyle (Stevens) Campiti. He was raised in Frontenac and graduated early from Frontenac High School as part of the Class of 2023. He played baseball, ran track and cross country, and was a member of the Chess Club. He was an avid video game player and loved Minecraft. Kooper had also recently gotten into physical fitness. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Liberal, Missouri and was employed full-time at U.S. Cellular, although he had planned to start taking college classes in the near future.

Kooper was truly one of a kind. The first thing most people noticed about Kooper were his eyes, followed immediately by his smile (if he chose to share it with you). He had a deep love for animals and had volunteered at the Humane Society in Pittsburg. Kooper's heart was big, and he was always there for those who needed him. While he was always an advocate and champion for the underdog, he was also fiercely competitive. He will be missed dearly by all those who loved him and will forever be remembered as a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Kooper is survived by his parents of the home, an older brother, Skyler Campiti of Pittsburg, a younger sister, Kami Campiti of the home, and paternal grandparents, Sharon Campiti Foulk of Frontenac and Peter Campiti of Elkhart, Indiana. Other survivors include his Uncle Anthony "Tony" Campiti (Jennifer) of Dallas, Texas; Aunt Vickie Woods of Alton, Missouri; Aunt Missy Proctor (David) of Mindenmines, Missouri; Uncle Allen Stevens (Kathy) of Mindenmines, Missouri; Uncle Tommy Stevens (Belinda) of Mindenmines, Missouri; Uncle Adam Woods (Tyanna) of Alton, Missouri; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, David "Lloyd" and Catherine Stevens; uncle, Timmy Stevens; and uncle, Brian Woods. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at the Countryside Christian Church in Pittsburg, with the Rev. Dan Moss officiating. Burial will be at the Frontenac City Cemetery across the street from where Kooper loved riding horses with his mother when he was young. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Kooper Campiti Fentanyl Education Initiative through the Crawford County, Kansas Sherriff's Department. Online condolences may be left for the Campiti family at www.bedenefuneralhome.com.
