CHCSEK to host diabetes education event

PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas Diabetes Education Team has announced plans to host a healthy cooking demonstration by Registered Dietitian Sherise Beckham next month.   

The class will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the big conference room at the Pittsburg main clinic at 3011 N. Michigan. This event is free and open to all, and will be the first in a series of bi-monthly specialized classes for people living with prediabetes, type 1 and type 2 diabetes.  

Speakers at the bi-monthly classes will come in and talk about different topics like nutrition, medications, wound care, and dental care. No referral is needed. Classes will be announced to the public throughout the year.
