BOURBON COUNTY, Kan. — A 38-year-old Texas man died in a single-car rollover crash early Saturday morning in Bourbon County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), at 4:52 a.m. a 2011 Chevy Silverado driven by Francisco J. Espinoza-Perez of Katy, Tx., was northbound on Kansas 7 Highway (K-7), just 1500 feet south of Hackberry Road.

The vehicle approached U.S. 69 northbound and began rotating counterclockwise while negotiating a curve on the U.S. 69 northbound on-ramp. The driver then failed to negotiate the curve, left the roadway, overturned and came to rest on its top on U.S. 69.

Espinoza-Perez was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Cheney Witt Funeral Home. Next of kin were notified as well by Texas Troopers Christopher Schotanus & Trooper Ronnie Hayward from Texas Department of Public Safety.
