Teresa M. Puffinbarger

Teresa M. Puffinbarger, 64, of Brazilton, passed away at 1:05 p.m.,
Sunday, October 15, 2023 at her home.

She was born on January 19, 1959 in Cherokee to Maurice Wesley and Grace Marie (Schulty) Allen. Teresa grew up near the Cherokee and Columbus area. Due to her father’s service in the United States Navy she traveled with her family and lived near various naval bases around the country. She graduated from Goosecreek High School in the Charleston, SC area in 1976.

She returned to southeast Kansas where she lived at Girard and Brazilton.
Teresa worked as a waitress for many years for several restaurants
including B&S café in Girard and recently at Harry’s Café in Pittsburg.
Teresa enjoyed knitting, crocheting, flowers, butterflies, and making
yearly trips to the beach to see the ocean. She was an avid animal lover
who adored her family, loved them unconditionally, and cherished the
memoires she made with them.

Teresa and Greg A. Puffinbarger were married on July 19, 1985 at Miami,
Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2021.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin Moyer, Sr., and his wife, Margaret of
Arcadia, and Gregory Puffinbarger of Pierce City, MO; her daughter, Heather Puffinbarger, and her spouse, Marissa of Neosho, MO; seven grandchildren, Jasmine Ashbacher, Lindsay Tindle, Kevin Moyer, Jr., Camryn Simons, Haley Moyer, Ashley Puffinbarger, and Tatum Puffinbarger; two great-grandchildren, Andie Sue Ashbacher and Greyson Simons; two brothers, Marty Allen and Mickey Allen both of Columbus; two sisters, Lisa Lowe and Lori Shea both of Pittsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Maurice and her sister, Sharon.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the
Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Bennett officiating.
Burial will follow in the Zion Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Brazilton. The
family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday evening.
