Robert William "Bob" LaForge, 65, of Girard, Kansas, died at 3:46 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Girard Medical Center.
Bob was born February 6, 1959 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of William B. and Vada P. (Ball) LaForge.
Bob grew up and attended schools in Girard and graduated from Girard High School where he was first chair Trumpet in the band.
He worked as a welder at Spicer-Adams Welding in Pittsburg for over 25. He was a welder for Pipefitters Union Local #441 for 20 years before retiring in February of 2022.
Bob enjoyed his family, especially his granddaughters, traveling, camping, guns, and lots of loud fireworks. He owned numerous motorcycles through the years and lots of animals that he loved dearly.
He was a member of the Pipefitters Union Local # 441 for over 25 years and the Girard Masonic Lodge No. 92, AF & AM of Girard.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte E. Clausen, of the home; his step-daughter, Brandi Clausen, (Trent Geier) of Girard; his granddaughters, Brinkley Cook, Adelyn Martin, Marli Cook; his sisters, Debbie Cussimanio (John) of Pittsburg, Patty Gobl (Dan) of Girard, Susie Ewan (Rob) of Arma; numerous nieces and nephews; his loving dog, Dally.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Janice LaForge and Sherry Bauder; his nephew, Jake Gobl; his nieces, Shelly Childers and Nancy Lemieux.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Friday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard where friends may call after 9:00 a.m., Friday. The family will receive friends at the Girard American Legion after 5:00 p.m., Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the Galesburg Relief Fund and "Care to Share" and these may be left at the American Legion or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
