Paul Eugene Milburn 78, of Pittsburg, KS died 8:46 p.m. Thursday July 20, 2023, at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO following a short illness.

Paul was born June 23, 1945, in Pittsburg, KS the son of Cecil Charles and Alice Marie (Abbott) Milburn. Paul has been a part of the Pittsburg community since 1968. Paul graduated from Girard High School in 1963 and joined the United States Air Force serving from 1965-1968, rising to the rank of sergeant. He served mostly in France and Okinawa, with the 454th Bomb Wing based out of Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi.

On July 3, 1965, Paul married Mary Joan Weiss in Arma, KS at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Paul, after his military service worked for Atkinson Armature Works in Pittsburg, KS for 41 ½ years as an electrician retiring in 2010. He was a member of Atkinson's Quarter-Century Club of retirees.

Paul was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He enjoyed time with family and friends, spending time outdoors fishing, working in the yard, and coaching youth baseball for several years. He later took up golf, expanding his circle of friends. He was a Boys Scout as a youth and demonstrated throughout his life a commitment of service to others in any way necessary.

Paul loved Royals baseball, Chiefs football, Kansas Jayhawks basketball, and spending time at the casino. He was a Boy Scout as a youth and supported his grandson's Scouting. Paul was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 64 in Pittsburg.

Survivors include his wife; children, John Paul Milburn and wife Meg of Lawrence, KS, Lisa Marie Dunn and husband Thomas of Pittsburg, KS, Dana Jones and husband John of Pittsburg, KS, and Michael Milburn and husband Dr. Roberto Monarez of Springfield, MO; sister, Berneda Hallacy of Frontenac, KS; grandchildren John Charles Milburn, Emma Katherine Milburn, Zoe Amelia Milburn, and Alexandra Elizabeth Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Edward Milburn, and an infant brother.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday July 24, 2023, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS, with the Rev. Father Andrew Labenz as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Sunday July 23, 2023, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund.
