Ascension Via Christi welcomed its first baby of the new year on Sunday. Baby Zion was born at 12:48 a.m. to Kierre Johnson. He was 8 pounds, 2 ounces and 20.25 inches. “Welcome to the world, Zion!” Ascension said in announcing the birth. “There’s nothing sweeter than ringing in the new year with new life. We’re thankful for the opportunity to provide you with care throughout your pregnancy, labor, delivery and beyond.”
