Kimberly Kay Ewan, 58, a resident of Frontenac, KS, passed away peacefully in her home on July 12th. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who brought love, warmth, and creativity into the lives of her family and those around her.
Kim was born on January 11, 1965, in Pittsburg, KS, to William Tomasi and Laverna Davied (Emerson). She attended Pittsburg Schools and began a lifelong journey filled with hard work and dedication. On February 2, 1991, she was united in marriage to her husband, Charlie Ewan, in Las Vegas, NV, where they began their shared adventure.
Kim began her professional journey at the age of 15, working at Barney's. She continued to contribute her skills at National Mills for many years. Together with her husband, Kim ventured into owning Supreme Sanitation, demonstrating her drive and commitment to their shared endeavors. Later, she ran her own meal service for Phoenix Mining Company until its closure in 2013. In her final years in the workforce, Kim diligently completed food preparation for Barto's Idle Hour in Frontenac, KS, further showcasing her passion to be in the kitchen.
Kim's love for cooking and her talents in various crafts brought joy to herself and those fortunate enough to experience her creations. Her culinary skills were a source of delight for her family and friends, as she poured love into every dish she prepared. Additionally, her craftsmanship extended to various artistic endeavors, where she expressed her creativity through crocheting, wood burning, decals and tumblers, quilting, and many other crafts.
Surviving Kim is her loving husband, Charlie Ewan of Frontenac, KS; her three children, Jason Ewan, Brandi Garbrick, and Shantel Soprych (Aubrey); her sister, Shari Newport; two brothers, Joe Tomasi (Scarlett) and Billy Tomasi; and her cherished grandchildren, Kinley Garbrick, Ryker Ewan, and Spencer Soprych.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A celebration of Kim's life will be held with details to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be sent to 4031 N. Mt. Carmel Rd, Frontenac, KS, addressed to her husband, Charlie Ewan, to assist with the final expenses during this difficult time.
Kim will forever be remembered for her love, her devotion to her family, and her creative soul. Her legacy will live on through the memories she created, the love she shared, and the impact she had on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her.
