KDOT announces approved bids for SEK highway projects

PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Kansas Department of Transportation on Monday announced approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects, including several in Southeast Kansas. 

In Crawford County, a $1,666,387.63 bid by Mission Construction Co. Inc. of St. Paul was approved for a bridge replacement project on U.S. 69 over First Cow Creek Drainage, located 2.25 miles north of the north junction of U.S. 69/U.S. 69 Alternate in Frontenac. 

In Greenwood County, APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division of Hutchinson’s $9,347,358.53 bid was approved for grading and surfacing on 1.9 miles of road starting on U.S. 400 from 11.2 miles east of the Butler/Greenwood county line and going east. 

In Linn County, a $2,819,604.07 bid by Superior Bowen Asphalt Company LLC, of Kansas City, Missouri, was approved for 12.9 miles of milling and overlay on K‑152, from the K‑7/K‑152 junction to the U.S. 69/K‑152 junction. 

Bids were also approved for three projects in Neosho County, including a $6,592,327.12 bid by Clarkson Construction Company, Kansas City, Missouri, for grading and surfacing on U.S. 169, from 0.7 mile north of the U.S. 169/K‑47 junction north for 1.8 miles; a $8,346,246.81 bid by Clarkson Construction Company for grading a surfacing on U.S. 169, from 1.2 miles north of the Labette/Neosho county line north 2.3 miles; and a $6,727,657.47 bid by Clarkson Construction Company for grading and surfacing on U.S. 169, from the Labette/Neosho county line north 7.05 miles to the south city limits of Thayer at the Portland cement concrete pavement, excluding from 1.2 miles north of the Labette/Neosho county line north 2.3 miles.
