James Levon Hill was surrounded by family and friends when he passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, in Fairbanks, Alaska, after a tragic motorcycle accident at the age of 73. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jim was born on April 16, 1950, in Yankton, South Dakota.
Jim is survived by his wife, Kay Hil (Payne); his children, Dennard Hegna, Michael Hegna, Michelle Stretch, Michelle Davis, and Brandon Hill; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was an Army veteran. Jim retired from Local 302 Operating Engineers and International Operating Engineers. James enjoyed traveling, reading books, riding his Harley, horses, fishing, hunting, writing poetry, helping others, and missionary work.
Services will be held Friday, Oct 13, 2023, at Garden of Memories Cemetery 149 S. Highway 69 Pittsburg, KS. The Committal services start at 2 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to the celebration at Crestwood Country Club 304 W. Crestview Ave Pittsburg KS at 4 p.m. with dinner and refreshments.
