Posted

The Dylan Meier Get Busy Livin’ (GBL) Foundation has been awarding funds for projects aimed at youth volunteerism as part of the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas (CFSEK) Grant Program since 2016. To date, fifty grant awards totaling $26,000 have been awarded to Southeast Kansas nonprofits for youth volunteerism projects.

This year, the GBL Foundation awarded $4,000 in grant funds to eight nonprofit organizations across Southeast Kansas. Nonprofits and their youth volunteer projects receiving funding in 2023 include:

Dream Big Little One Association (DBLO) - Making Beds/Changing Lives for Children in Need

Fostering Connections - Crawford Back to School Free, Family, Fun Event

Parsons Recreation Commission - Baseball Scorebox Repair

Riverton Elementary - Playground Improvement

Special Olympics Kansas- SEK Youth Volunteers

USD 250 Pittsburg GBL Club - Special Olympic Bocce Tournament

USD #504 Oswego, KS - Community Service Day

Wildcat Extension Education Foundation - Parsons Kids Garden Club

These projects keep Dylan’s spirit of adventure, fitness, curiosity, generosity, and a daily zest for life experiences alive and thriving. The GBL Foundation “is determined to break down the boundaries that keep people from living life to the fullest, whether those boundaries be social, economic or imaginary.”

In addition to the youth volunteer grant projects, the GBL Foundation shows its dedication to the community and the GBL mission through annual scholarship opportunities to graduating seniors, sponsoring volunteer abroad experiences, recognizing a PHS Dragon and a KPREPS Player of the Year award, and through annual event to honor Dylan’s life and spirit.

CFSEK is pleased to be the host agency for the Get Busy Livin’ Foundation Fund and is proud to assist them in the granting of these awards. CFSEK, along with the Get Busy Livin’ Foundation, would like to congratulate the 2023 grant recipients.
