GALENA, Kan. — A Galena man was killed and a Joplin man injured Friday in a three-vehicle crash in Galena, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

57-year-old James M. Snow of Galena was driving northbound on South Wood Street in a 2000 Nissan Quest at about 9:40 a.m. Friday when he rear-ended a 2010 Honda Insight driven by 48-year-old Justin Holt of Galena near the intersection with Lincoln Drive, according to the KHP crash report.

Snow’s vehicle left the roadway to the right before he overcorrected to the left, crossing South Wood Street and striking a 2010 Ford Edge driven by 30-year-old Jacob Laster of Joplin, who was traveling southbound.

Snow was transported to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin but his injuries from the crash proved fatal. His passenger, 63-year-old William J. Reagan of Joplin, was treated for suspected minor injuries. Holt and Laster were apparently uninjured. With the exception of Snow, everyone involved in the crash was wearing seat belts.
