David J. Redmond, born on December 11, 1935, in Indianapolis, Indiana peacefully passed away on June 13, 2024, in Pittsburg, Kansas.

He was a devoted family man, quick with a kind word, an easy smile, and a contagious laugh.

David proudly served in the United States Air Force for 5 years. After his military service, he pursued higher education at Indiana University. In 1970, he moved his young family to Pittsburg, KS, and opened Redmond Accounting Services, where he and Joyce dedicated themselves while raising their two boys.

In his free time, David enjoyed shooting hoops in the drive, playing cards, visiting the casino, vacationing, and celebrating the Kansas City Championships. He will be remembered for his love of family and fun-loving spirit.

He is survived by his sons: Greg and wife, Denise Redmond of Wichita, and Daniel Redmond, of Pittsburg; his siblings: Rita Brown, Paul, Thomas, and Richard Redmond. He was also blessed with grandsons: Aaron and Tony, and so tickled by his great-grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his wife of more than 60 years, Joyce Ann Miller Redmond, parents John and Marguerite Breinig Redmond, brothers John and Robert Redmond, and sister Alice Gong.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Via Christi Assisted Care.
